Having spent more than 20 years in the field before joining the Synergis Engineering Design Solutions technical team, Dave worked for Bethlehem Steel and SPX/Ecolaire. During his time at SPX/Ecolaire as CAD Manager, he was able to implement a 3D modeling program as well as modeling standards using iLogic programming. Dave earned his degree in Engineering Design from Northampton Community College.
With a focus on the Autodesk manufacturing solutions, Dave is well versed in Inventor, including being an expert in iLogic. Dave spends much of his time working on custom consulting, company modeling standards, and one-on-one training projects.
Joe joined the Synergis Engineering Design Solutions technical team a little over a year ago, bringing 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. Prior to joining Synergis, Joe worked as a mechanical designer for the Phoenix Forge Group where he designed new parts and managed their document and data needs. Joe earned his Associates degree in CAD design from Thompson Institute.
Darin has over 17 years of CAD experience with the past 10 years being with Synergis Engineering Design Solutions where he has helped over 700 customers with product support issues. Before joining Synergis, Darin worked in the Land Development/Design industry as a CAD Specialist. Darin earned his Associates degree in Computer Programming from Delaware County Community College.
Focusing on the Autodesk Architecture and Civil solutions, Darin is an Autodesk certified AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Revit Architecture Professional. You’ll find Darin helping our customers with product support issues ranging from license files and installation to solving software errors.
Darren Hartenstine has over 25 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and documentation. He has multiple Autodesk certifications including Autodesk Certified Consultant, Inventor Certified Expert, Autodesk Mechanical Implementation Certified Expert, Autodesk Data Management Implementation Certified and a Certified Instructor. He is currently the Director of Professional Services at Synergis overseeing all of the training, services and implementations for our Engineering Design Solutions division.
James Johnson has worked with CAD products for more than 25 years in many positions, from being a CAD drafter to writing automation applications. In his current position he does CAD integration for Adept document management system. In previous position he used RealDWG® to write custom automation to create drawings of industrial kitchen equipment. He has worked at resellers of AutoCAD products in software development groups doing custom applications for Inventor and AutoCAD software. He has taught AutoCAD and Microsoft Visual Basic software classes while working at resellers. He was an AutoCAD instructor at 2 community colleges.
John has over 15 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with more than half being with the Synergis Engineering Design Solutions technical team. Before joining Synergis, John worked in an IT role for Mannesmann Rexroth Corporation supporting over 150 people as well as a CAD Administrator where he was able to implement a cabinet library in Mechanical Desktop to streamline the creation of shop drawings for a large cabinet manufacturer.
With a focus on the Autodesk manufacturing and data management solutions, John is a certified Autodesk Inventor Professional. You’ll find John doing Autodesk Vault implementations and Autodesk Inventor training.
for George J. Donovan AIA & Associates where he managed company CAD standards, mentored colleagues, and migrated the firm from AutoCAD to AutoCAD Architecture. Bill earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Hartford.
With a focus on the Autodesk AEC solutions, Bill is a certified Autodesk Certified Revit Implementation Expert as well as an Autodesk Certified AutoCAD Architecture and Revit Architecture Professional. You’ll find Bill instructing many of our training classes as well as working with many of customers to implement BIM.
Since 2013, Mark Lancaster has been the Product Support Specialist/Help Desk Tech for Synergis EDS. Mark has over 20 years of experience in the manufacturing world, 15+ years in the 3D modeling world, and is a self-taught AutoCAD user since Release 9. However most of that time has been around CAD and document management administration. Besides the focus on the Autodesk manufacturing & data management solutions along with Autodesk licensing, Mark is an Autodesk Expert Elite, Certified Inventor Professional, and recently a speaker at Autodesk University. You will find him assisting Synergis customers with product support issues, but also spends his free time on the Autodesk Licensing/Installation & Inventor forums assisting other Autodesk users.
Bob has 25 years of experience in the industrial machine design industry. Before joining the Synergis Engineering Design Solutions technical team, Bob worked in the wire machinery and plastic processing industries as an Engineering Manager and Chief Design Engineer. Bob earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Middlesex College.
With a focus on the Autodesk manufacturing solutions, Bob is a certified Inventor Expert. You’ll find Bob instructing our training classes, as well working with customers on custom consulting and training projects.
Todd has over 25 years of experience in the mechanical engineering industry. Before joining Synergis, Todd was a documentation specialist and designer at Honeywell, Inc. working on specific projects required to meet government standards. Todd’s experience also spans the technical ceramic, elevation and specialty gas industries. Todd has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems Management from Delaware Valley College.
With a focus on the Autodesk manufacturing solutions, Todd is an Inventor Certified Professional, Manufacturing Implementation Certified Expert as well as Autodesk Level 5 Demo Certified. He has been teaching at Autodesk University since 2008. You’ll find Todd instructing many of our training classes, including Inventor Essentials, AutoCAD Electrical Essentials and Factory Design, as well supporting customers on consulting and training projects.
Kevin Spear, PE
Kevin has 25 years of experience in the civil engineering industry. Prior to joining the Synergis Engineering Design Solutions technical team in 2012, Kevin held the roles of Senior Civil Engineer and Senior Application Specialist where he provided civil design support for national and international projects as well as maintaining CAD/BIM standards. Kevin earned his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Messiah College.
Kevin is a certified Professional Engineer in the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and New Jersey as well as an Autodesk certified AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D Professional. You’ll find Kevin instructing many of our training classes, including AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT and Civil 3D Essentials, as well working with customers on custom training projects.
Jim has over 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with more than half being with the Synergis Engineering Design Solutions technical team. Before joining Synergis, Jim worked in the consumer electronics and automotive industries as a designer engineer, test engineer and CAD administrator. Jim earned both his Bachelor and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University.
With a focus on the Autodesk manufacturing and simulation solutions, Jim is a certified AutoCAD and Inventor Expert and has been presenting at Autodesk University since 2003. You’ll find Jim instructing many of our training classes, including AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT and Inventor Essentials, as well working with customers on custom consulting and training projects.
Scott Stortz is the PLM Application Consultant for Synergis Engineering Design Solutions. Prior to joining Synergis, Scott spent over 20 years as a mechanical engineer developing products for manufacturers of industrial machinery, heavy duty transportation vehicles, and industrial appliances. Throughout his engineering career, Scott also held roles dedicated to improving business processes utilizing CAD, Data Management, ERP, and PLM systems. He is now working with customers to build on that experience and success to streamline their processes and help transform their business.
Lynn Allen, Cadalyst columnist and Autodesk Technical Evangelist, speaks to more than 30,000 users worldwide each year. For the past 22 years she has written a column for Cadalyst magazine called “Circles and Lines” and is the voice behind the popular Cadalyst videos –“Tips and Tricks with Lynn Allen”. Lynn started using Autodesk® software over 25 years ago, and taught at the corporate and collegiate level for 13 years before joining Autodesk. A sought-after public speaker with a unique comedic style, Lynn is always one of the highest rated speakers and host of Autodesk University®. The author of three AutoCAD books, her latest is entitled AutoCAD Professional Tips and Techniques.
Jay Ayala is an MEP Systems designer and industry technology evangelist based in Hillsboro, OR. He has an Engineering Technology degree and has acquired widespread industry experience over the past 20+ years. After leading Building Information Modeling transition efforts at his previous design firms, Jay joined Autodesk in 2006. In his role at Autodesk, he supports customers across North America, informing and influencing BIM workflow adoption and strategy. His career spans the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Piping design industry and caters to MEP Design and Fabrication companies.
For more than 20 years Jeff Bartels has worked in the civil infrastructure industry. Before coming to Autodesk, Jeff served as the CAD manager for a civil engineering and consulting firm in Illinois. He was one of the early adopters of Civil 3D, migrating his firm to a BIM related workflow in 2008. He also served as a Technical Specialist for an Autodesk partner, providing consulting, training and implementation services to customers in the central United States region. As a member of Autodesk’s Infrastructure Technical Specialist Team, Jeff has provided training and support for several DOT’s & large municipalities. Since 2008, he has published 25+ titles on AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Wayne Griffenberg is an Autodesk CAD/CAM Applications Engineer supporting Eastern U.S.. He is a highly skilled engineering professional with 20+ years of CAD & CAM experience, having served the regulated medical product industry. His extensive background includes design, development and manufacturing of products ranging from infant incubators to total knee and hip implant prosthesis. Wayne has an ASMET degree from Penn State University. He enjoys learning new skills, demonstrating and teaching new skills, providing technical solutions, all of which keeps him fulfilled in his role as a CAD/CAM Applications Engineer.
Dave is a Fusion 360 Technical Specialist with Autodesk. In his role he partners with Autodesk teams and authorized resellers to assist in developing the best solutions for customers. Dave has lots of expertise in the CAD world including CFdesign, Pro/Engineer, Solidworks, Inventor, SolidEdge, UG-NX, Solid Designer, Spaceclaim, Nastran In-CAD, and Fusion 360.
Corey has a BSME from The Ohio State University and has been employed with Autodesk as a Subject Matter Expert for CFD and FEA since August 2016. Prior to joining the Autodesk team, Corey worked as a Design Engineer and Structures Analyst for Belcan. At Belcan, Corey worked on several jet engine programs. Corey also worked as Simulation Specialist for Fisher Unitech, a SolidWorks reseller in the Midwest and northeast from 2013-2016.
Jose Elizardo is a 3ds Max software technical specialist for Media & Entertainment at Autodesk, Inc. With over 13 years of product experience, Jose focuses mainly on promoting the value of visualization throughout various industries.
Caesar Ruest is the Autodesk Construction Solutions Advisor based in Toronto, Canada. Focusing on Autodesk software solutions that incorporate process improvements, and best practices, Caesar has influenced a number of significant North American customers and projects to integrate change in order to realize world-class advancements within capital project delivery trends as it relates to planning, visualization, and management of assets for their lifecycle. With over 20 years’ experience in the AEC marketplace, Caesar meets with executives and capital project stakeholders as a trusted advisor, identifying data interoperability improvements that result in operations and maintenance efficiencies.
Jamie Scherer joined Autodesk in 2010 as a Manufacturing Technical Specialist. As a Solutions Engineer, Jamie’s duties include supporting our North American customers by understanding their business issues and finding solutions that solve their challenges. More recently he is focused on a pilot Fusion Team focused on Customer Success and adoption. Jamie has collaborated on projects from Product Development to Marketing in addition to supporting the America’s Sales Organization. Prior to joining Autodesk, Jamie was a Designer and Cad Manager for a Yacht Company in New Gretna, NJ. Jamie was responsible for implementing Autodesk Inventor, Vault Professional, Alias and Showcase throughout the enterprise. Jamie also was a freelance consultant for several Product Development, Packaging, and Graphic Design Projects.
Steve Dunn, Razorleaf
Steve is a Senior PLM Consultant with the Razorleaf Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a master’s degree in Business Administration. He has 10 years in design and manufacturing and 11 years as a PLM consultant. His areas of expertise include enterprise and cloud-based solution architecture, database design, and application development. He has five years of experience developing and implementing enterprise-level Autodesk Fusion Lifecycle integrations with NetSuite, SAP, Autodesk Vault, Salesforce, Oracle EBS, SharePoint, SQL Server, MAPICS, and BPCS.
Audrey Marich, PPL
Audrey has over 32 years of drafting experience at PPL. She joined PPL in 1984, working in the Nuclear and Generation departments prior to joining Substation Engineering in 1991. These 25 years have been spent in the Protection and Controls group working in both transmission and distribution stations. Prior to her time at PPL she spent three years at Crowder Jr. Company working on designs for companies including Dorney Park, Crayola, and Victaulic.
Peter Gehring, IMC Construction
Peter is Director of Virtual Construction at IMC Construction and has over 20 years experience in computer modeling and virtual design for the construction industry. Peter’s area of expertise involves supporting both IMC’s Preconstruction and Production Departments with: Estimates and takeoffs, VE Comparative Analysis, Site and Project Logistics, Construction Simulation, irtual Mockups, Work Packages and Lift Drawings, Trade coordination and Conflict Resolution, Punch lists and As Builts. The Building Information Models and virtual designs developed by Peter are used throughout all phases of a project and aid in team communication and collaboration, Owners’ understanding and visualization and ultimate competition of a project on time and budget.
In addition, Peter is responsible for managing the VDC Department’s personnel and workflow and training internal employees on computer modeling software and technologies that can aid them in their daily jobs.
Robert Lehman, Eastern Exterior Walls
Robert is the BIM/CAD Manager at Eastern Exterior Wall Systems, Inc. in Allentown, PA and has 19 years of experience in the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction field. Over his 15 years with E.E.W.S. he has been a CAD/BIM designer, worked on and managed company standards, conducted internal training, deployed software, created and implemented various add-ons for AutoCAD and Revit. Robert is an Autodesk Certified Revit Architecture and AutoCAD Professional.
Robert Green, Robert Green Consulting Group
Robert Green has provided CAD management consulting, programming, training and technical writing services for clients throughout the United States, Canada and Europe since 1991. A mechanical engineer by training, Robert has used AutoCAD, MicroStation, SDRC, Calma and Inventor software systems in a variety of engineering environments since 1985. Robert’s expertise in CAD management has been acquired via real world experience as the “alpha CAD user” everywhere he’s worked. Over time he came to enjoy the technological and training challenges associated with CAD management and now trains CAD managers via public speaking. Robert is well known for his insightful articles in Cadalyst magazine and his book Expert CAD Management: The Complete Guide (published by Sybex). When not writing Robert heads his own consulting practice, The Robert Green Consulting Group, based in Atlanta.
